From Al Stone, the Company’s native Georgian (as opposed to our
Georgia resident, Steve Brown): “My folks on Mother's side came from
Hillsborough, North Carolina after the Rev War and lived in Burke County and
then settled in Clarke County. John
Stroud (1732-1805) (F&I War and Rev War) and two of his sons were veterans
of the North Carolina Militia and came to Georgia looking for better land. John Stroud, over the years, had migrated
from New Jersey, to Pennsylvania, to Virginia, to North Carolina, and finally
to Georgia. So here I am in Alabama...I guess that make me a real Georgia
Refugee too!”
